Many of Eleanor Dickinson’s models got to know her cats, who wandered around during modeling sessions and occasionally deigned to pose. This piece is a particularly fresh example.  Myeongsuk is the name of the model.  It was unusual for the artist to provide a setting for her models as she does here by presenting the figure in a beach scene. One of a kind artwork.  See the About page for more information on the Art, Shipping and Additional Charges, Paper, and other topics. This 1978 piece shows Nina the cat, one of the many pets Eleanor Dickinson and her family members owned and loved throughout their lifetimes.  Nina had one blue eye and one green and was owned by Eleanor Dickinson’s mother. Eleanor Dickinson often retold the story of one of her first major art projects–when she was a small girl in East Tenessee, when she painted Cinder, her grandmother’s cat, to add some variety to her natural feline colors.
